Square One Emerging Leaders provides structured training, continuous education, and real-world construction experience.

Hands-On Construction Skills

Participants receive training in residential construction and home assembly, including:

  • Reading construction and assembly manuals
  • Power tool safety
  • Material measurement and preparation
  • Framing and carpentry fundamentals
  • Concrete foundation placement
  • Underground plumbing infrastructure

Students graduate with practical experience building safe, structurally sound housing.

Career & Business Readiness

Workforce success requires more than technical ability. Our program also includes extensive professional development such as:

TRAINING OPTIONS

Construction Small Business Startup Only

Includes learning the steps and requirements for obtaining a license as a home improvement contractor or general contractor. Provide training in business law, basic accounting, understanding building codes, building permits and inspections. Different types of insurance and bonds needed for construction businesses

Apprenticeship Training and Construction Small Business Startup

This training, in addition to the apprenticeship training, would include learning the steps and requirements for obtaining a license as a home improvement contractor or general contractor. Provide training in business law, basic accounting, understanding building codes, building permits and inspections. Different types of insurance and bonds needed for construction businesses.

Apprenticeship Training Only

This training will prepare students to enter the construction workforce as an apprentice carpenter. The training will provide both classroom and hands on experience that will include basic knowledge tools used, tool and jobsite safety, blueprint reading, construction site prep, concrete forming and pouring, framing and interior finish. Graduating students will be prepared to work for homebuilders with limited supervision.

Program Accountability

All students must successfully pass an approved course examination to ensure measurable readiness for employment.

Industry Credentials

Participants also earn Continuous Education Units (CEUs) and gain pathways toward long-term certification.
